Jasmine van Zoest

We are back in the Netherlands and this time we are here to stay. At the moment, we are living out of our suitcases in a hotel and will probably do so until we find our new home. The worse part is Jasmine is jetlagged. She wakes up at two o’clock in the morning. We tried our best to quiet her in order not to wake the rest of the guests in the hotel. There is not much to do at two o’clock in the morning and it is freezing cold outside so the thought of taking her out for a walk does not appeal to us. Aside from the jetlag, she has adapted to the new country very well. She became friends with one of the local girls.

Jasmine had a very long day, she is finally back in the hotel room and happily napping. Once awake, Mama and Jasmine will be schlepping laundry to the Laundromat. Which should be a lot of fun, and will put us at the start of a whole new adventure. (If only the hotel would have a place for us to wash our clothes. Hopefully we will have enough change to make it all work out. )

In this series, you will see a couple pictures of Jasmine's emerging personality. She seems to share a lot of her Papa's personality. For instance, the picture from above is something her Papa loved to do as a child as he thought it was fun to view the world from an upside down perspective. And then there is more picture evidence, but we will leave it as an exercise to the reader to find it.

Jasmine, undoubtedly, is a fun and sweet little girl (yes, she has stopped being a baby).

It was snowing outside so, Mama decided to let Jasmine try on her summer outfit to help remind us that summer is not too far away.

This is such a beautiful dress. It is the perfect dress for this summer. Thank you Dad for thinking of Jasmine.

"Daddy" Kiss

Jasmine currently does not have a home, but luckily for Jasmine Ome Harrie is gracious to share his flat with us. This series is taken at Ome Harrie's home.

Jasmine and I were suppose to see the beautiful house made of rosy brick, with geraniums in the windows and doves on the roof. Oh, what a pretty house! And we missed seeing it today.

She is doing very well and she has great ambitions. Because of her great ambition, often times, she gets hurt quite terribly and we are always a little late in saving her. She spends hours exploring her surroundings. Putting the chair on its side and upside down, just to get a different perspective of it. We are hoping that her exploration continues and does her little harm compared to what she gains in experience.

Aside from that, whenever we read her books she insists on turning the pages for us or grabs the books out of our hands and reads it to herself. She loves to paint as well. She will finger paint with anything that is liquid. Artistic genes run in the family. Her cousin, Emmi Jo-ann, is also a painter.

Jasmine received many wonderful wishes and 'leih síh' (利市) from Great Grandfather, Laoye, Great Aunt Phun, Mamma, and Papa. For those that celebrate chinese new year, we trust you are having a happy and prosperous new year.

Lastly, Laoye, thank you for the beautiful Chinese New Year dress. It fits Jasmine perfectly.

In addition, you will also see images of Jasmine making goofy faces inorder to amuse her Papa. She pressed her face against the glass door and made different faces each time. So her Papa was ROLF. Little girls are incredibly charming and sweet!
